Joseph said...

Dear God,

I am a 19 year old teen/boy. I do not know the answers to every question, nor do i know what to do with my life. Everyday i struggle to find a way to better my life, such as trying to please what my parents want for me, and not what i want for myself. Who am i? I do not even know. Am i already having an identity crisis at such a young age? I have done many wrongs, such as masturbation, and i can not seem to stop. i feel so stressed over school, work and family. Lord, please help me in my path to seek who i am, and to receive your grace. lead me into the right path.

Answer from God through Carley:

"First, you already have my grace; you have always had it.

Some people are born knowing what they want to do with their lives.  For those that are not as certain, a way to find what you are most passionate about is to try as many things that interest you as possible.  You will discover that some of the things you try are not as interesting as they seemed before you tried doing them.  Other things will require practice and hard work in order for you to excel.  If you love what you're doing, doing it will never feel that it takes too much work to become proficient.  When something that you try ignites something in you, stick with it.  I gave you all great intuition.  When you use your intuition you search your heart to know what feels right and what doesn't and that is where I am.

Using your intuition regarding everything you do in your life is also a wise practice.  When you do things that others say is wrong ask yourself a few questions; Are you hurting anyone?  Are you hurting yourself?  By doing it are you taking away from the quality of your life?  If any of those questions are answered with yes, then stop the practice or limit it so that the answers become no.  If you cannot stop harmful practices on your own, seek help. It was never my intent for anyone to accomplish anything of significance alone."
